OHANA LOVE

The best poké bowl I ever had.
Lots of toppings to choose from and they taste very fresh and are good quality. The staff are also very friendly and helped me with my first time choosing the toppings and what sauce would go well with it. If I lived in Victoria, I would come here at least once a week!

Our favourite poké bowl in Victoria, especially this one in Uptown.
Always clean and comfortable. We usually we order takeout, love their wide selection of flavours with salmon and tuna, and there are a wide variety of sauces and sides to choose from. Today we dined in and took some new photos. I also got a video featuring it in my channel. Check out my Playlist ‘My dining journey in Victoria’ to know more😋

Wow! Delicious poké bowls
I loved being able to customize my own bowl. Ingredients looked and tasted very fresh. Staff was extremely kind and welcoming. Great place 🙂

Ono Poké FAQs
What is poké?
Poké (pronounced poh-kay) is a traditional Hawaiian dish meaning “to slice or cut.” It’s typically made with cubes of fresh, marinated fish served over rice and topped with a variety of fresh, flavorful ingredients. Think of it as a vibrant mix between sushi and a salad – light, refreshing, and customizable.
Is poké kind of like sushi?
Poké isn’t sushi – While both use fresh fish, poké is a Hawaiian dish at heart, not Japanese. It’s served in a bowl, not rolled up, and focuses on fresh, marinated fish layered with texture and flavour. Think hearty, refreshing, and full of colour.
What makes Ono Poké different?
At Ono, we serve more than just a bowl – we serve with aloha. Every recipe, sauce, and topping is crafted in-house using fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Our goal is to bring you a taste of Hawai‘i right here on the Island, with flavours that are bold, balanced, and made with care.
Do I have to like raw fish to enjoy poké?
Not at all! While our main poké bowls feature raw ahi tuna, salmon, and scallop, Ono Poké offers plenty of options – including cooked shrimp, two kinds of tofu, and BBQ’d chicken and pork options. You can completely customize your meal to your taste and comfort level.
Is poké healthy?
Absolutely. Poké bowls are naturally rich in protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and fresh produce. You can also build a lighter bowl with greens, or make it heartier with rice and flavorful sauces. We believe in balance – food that tastes good and makes you feel good.
Can I customize my bowl?
Yes! Every bowl at Ono is made to order. Start with your base, pick your protein, choose your toppings and sauces, and finish with your choice of garnish. Whether you love it spicy, savoury, or citrusy, it’s all about your perfect combo.
Do you offer vegan or gluten-free options?
We do! Many of our bases, sauces, and toppings are vegan and gluten-free. You can also opt for tofu and veggie-based bowls. Just let our team know about your preferences or allergies, and we’ll help you build something delicious and safe for you.
What is shoyu?
Shoyu (pronounced shō-yü) is the Japanese word for soy sauce – a savoury, umami-rich seasoning traditionally brewed from soybeans, wheat, salt, and water. At Ono Poké, we offer both traditional shoyu and a gluten-free version, so you can enjoy the same bold, balanced flavour that complements your bowl perfectly – whether you’re keeping things classic or avoiding gluten.
Where do you source your fish?
We partner with trusted suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and quality. Our tuna comes directly from Hawai‘i, flash-frozen to preserve its natural flavour and texture, while our Atlantic salmon is ethically raised and handled with the same care.
Do you offer delivery or online ordering?
Yes – you can order directly through our website or Uber Eats.
What does “Ono” mean?
In Hawaiian, Ono means “delicious.” It also represents quality, care, and the joy of sharing food with others – everything our brand stands for.
